Photofocus Foundation from Wet n Wild

It is a well established fact that I am completely in love with Wet n Wild.  It is a brand that I rave about to anyone willing to listen.  The brand is cruelty free and offers amazing quality at a fantastic price.

When I saw the new Photofocus foundation I had to try it.  The first thing I noticed was the extensive shade range.  I’m pale skinned and it can often be difficult to find a good colour match.  There were a number of shades for pale skin ranging from neturals to warms and cools.  I was surprised by the amount of options.

The foundation genuinely is incredible.  I’m on my second bottle.  The bottle has an applicator attached to the lid which I like for placing the foundation on my face before using a brush.   I really like this as it means I’m not pouring too much foundation out and wasting it.  The texture is gorgeous and it has great lasting power.  I apply my make-up at 6am and it lasts for the day.

Photofocus has medium coverage and is buildable.  It creates a lovely finish.  For me this foundation performs as well as its high end counterparts.  Unbelievably, it costs €6.99!  I absolutely adore this foundation.… Read the rest

Irish Travel Products

Today, I’m talking about some great products from Irish companies that are perfect for travel.  We are very lucky to have some fantastic beauty brands in Ireland boasting great quality products.

The first item I want to discuss is from my beloved Blank Canvas Cosmetics.  I feel I need to gush a little bit about my love for the brand first.  The very first palette I bought when I qualified as a Make-Up Artist was from Blank Canvas Cosmetics.  I’m pretty sure at this stage that I have every brush from the brand and most of the make-up palettes.  Blank Canvas’ Una Tynan and her team have been incredibly kind, supportive and generous to me and I really appreciate it.  Una is an absolute make-up and brush genius and everything she produces is magical.

There have been so many fantastic new releases recently but I want to focus on the six piece travel set.  The set hosts some firm favourites in cute miniature form.  The set is cruelty free and vegan friendly which is always with a winner with me.  Brushes include the F01 quick brush, the F20 foundation brush, the F41 blusher brush, the E01 eye blending brush, the E02 flat shadow brush and the E03 detail brush for lips or liner.  The set is €49.99.  It is the perfect set for travelling or for handbag brushes.

Nima Brush is a well-known fantastic Irish brand and the original home of duck egg brushes.  The brushes are of utmost quality … Read the rest

Favourites from Penneys

Every so often I like to share a little haul on some of my favourite purchases from the treasure trove of wonder that is Penneys.  Today I’m talking about some of my recent buys.

First on my list is a gorgeous black dress.  It is so pretty.  The dress has mesh and lace on it and the skirt has a tiered effect.  It is nice and light on and is very comfortable and easy to wear.  It is €26 so a little bit more expensive than usual prices from Penneys but it is very elegant and would look great on a night out.

I love cardigans, in fact I live in them.  I hate my arms and always have them covered so cardigans are a staple in my wardrobe.  When winter hits I like long and somewhat sloppy cardigans.  I picked up some long cardigans on sale.  They were €14 reduced to €10.  I got three in black, grey and navy.  They are part of the wool mix collection and are very soft.  I’m thrilled with them.

I’m obsessed with my pets, obsessed!  I get so happy when I see something relating to them.  When I saw these hedgehog pjs I had to have them.  As I was about to pay for them I saw hedgehog slippers.  The set is perfect for sitting with my little Pumpkin.  He loves the set too, so much so that I had to include him in the photo!

Staying on the subject of pets, … Read the rest

A Blank Canvas Christmas

Today I’m talking about Christmas ideas from Blank Canvas Cosmetics.  Tomorrow Blank Canvas will be offering 30% off as part of their Black Friday sale so it is the perfect excuse to buy a few bits and pieces for yourself as well as presents for others.  Blank Canvas is my absolute favourite brand and every single product is of utmost quality and brilliance.  Basically, I’m recommending everything.  Go mad, buy the lot!  There are so many brushes and palettes to recommend for presents and stocking fillers but today I’m going to focus on just a few.  I should add at this point that I have taken my photos from the Blank Canvas website; I had a bit of an accident with my phone so I can’t take pictures with its camera at the moment.

Starting with brushes, the Dimension Series has recently been launched which offers a collection of new brushes as well as a change of outfit for some old reliables.  The Dimension Series sees brushes dressed in black and gold, hot pink and metallics.  The first brush I want to talk about is the F01 quick brush.  This is an absolute must-have.  It is quite like the F20 foundation brush only bigger in dimension and shorted in size.  The brush is suitable for foundation, powder and bronzer; it can be used on wet and dry products.  I use this brush most mornings as I can buff in my foundation quickly.

The F39 is a beauty of a brush.  … Read the rest

Christmas with Boots

Now that it is November it is perfectly fine to talk about Christmas and this evening I want to share some fab bits and pieces with you from the Boots Christmas launch.  I did actually attend the launch in September but have been saving it for you until now and as Boots have some fantastic Black Friday offers on the horizon you will be spoilt for choice for Christmas presents.

Firstly the launch was absolutely spectacular.  It honestly was so beautiful.  The room was adorned with Christmas trees and decorations.  Guests were serenaded with a live performance.  Soap and Glory provided a pink glittery Santa with a pink glittery beard on a pink velvet couch which was a very different twist on Christmas.  There was an abundance of food and festivities galore.

There were so many lovely gifts to choose from but a couple of beauties really stood out for me.

This Christmas cracker from No7 is a great gift for any beauty lover.

(n0t a great photo, sorry)

I love sleep and relaxation sets and this one from Champneys is great.  It contains a spray, a temple balm and a sleep mask.  I have been trying it out for a few weeks and  I’m really impressed with it.

I hadn’t ever tried any Liz Earle products so I was delighted to speak with some of the brand’s lovely ladies at the event.  There are so many Liz Earle  sets to choose from.  On the night I was gifted with … Read the rest
